I Wonder How Old This Thing Really Is??

Double-edge or “safety razors” have been around since the early 1900's, but it's use during the last couple decades has declined, their usage has been mostly limited to a small contingent of shaving purists. That being said, remember the brush and the cup and the art of the shave..

Howdy Y'all and welcome to my blog post tonight. It is a little different but I assure you it has a purpose and I will ask your help...

I wondered what we could remember tonight..maybe some huge past event that shaped our world or not..

As I dried off from a little hike in the crazy weather we have been having..the snow, the freeze and today..rain! Good times to be sure lol... I noticed I was a might stubbly and could use a shave...

Then it hit me!! A story reminding myself of growing up. Made me think of my papaw and the weekends going there and staying at their little spread. I so loved those times, high up in my mountains here. It was to me Heaven on Earth back then... so many stories I could relate to the readers. The woods and stories of my brother and I and my cousins at times adventuring..yes we were lil explorers and it was great. But tonight the story I am sharing is one lots of readers can relate to. Remember growing up and for instance..your grandpa or your dad was shaving.. remember thinking that is so cool and I can't wait til I am old enough to do that!
But thinking maybe by then I will just grow a beard that rivals even Grizzly Adams! Hmm lets have a look see...

Still reckon you could? Or want to try?

Yep makes me think back to that time. But remember watching and maybe getting swatted by the good ole shave cream and  a "beard" made you laugh..was a cool big boy bonding moment..
Yep borrowed pics but it fit..

Now I am gonna tell you more about my moment of inspiration...this image below is my Papaw's ol safety razor...

I was at the Dollar Tree awhile back and saw that rise shaving cream and the since the 50's slogan and I had too...it made me think back to then. I know back in the day shaving was an art..an art of Manliness!

I wondered how old his ole razor was and I know he had used it since..well since I can remember so I figured I could ask if anyone could give a guess on it. And share a memory of your past just like what we are talking about here.

And now in closing and feel free to share your opinion but through trial and error and some free flowing blood from random nicks as I tried using a new version that was a bit gimmicky and shiny...
A neat little tool that comes at an as seen on T.V. price tag..mine was $19.95..the new safety razor as advertised by Mr Pawnstars himself. And Mr Rick I'm not knocking you but.. your nifty lil toy lost..bet the old man would agree with me...

See shiny!

But all that glitters is not gold...

I found these clips from good ole You Tube and had to throw em in.

But I reminisce that Micro I got for a stocking stuffer for my dad for Christmas 2013..sadly he passed on the 9th that December and never got to try it. Rest in Peace Dad, I Love You.

I guess Heaven was in need of another Truck Drivin' Good Ole Boy  to bring in the load up there...

And I made myself a lil misty just now...(moment of silence please bow your heads)

And now the finale...I eventually tried the Micro..it works but trust me...do without it! Or collect it..shiny!!

The head to head..or blades to my face..challenge...

And the winner is...(drum roll please)

Old School Rocks!

Yes Grampus WINS!!!

Take Care Y'all and come back to see what's next. Meanwhile do leave a memory or opinion if you're of a mind to..and thanks in advance...
