Remember The Old T.V. Tray?

Now when I was a kid I remember the old T.V. Trays my mom had stashed in the corner and only brought out on movie nights with my little brother and me. We would have a pepperoni and cheese sandwich or some other yummy morsels that we loved, they were kind of a rarity at our house. I can still picture our living room with lights dimmed just right as the family gathered around the t.v. for a good movie. Mom and Dad (when he didn't have the graveyard shift) on the couch, my brother and I on our chosen perches, a chair or the love seat (sometimes we would fight for it) and wait excitedly for the movie and for that snack Mmm Mmm good.

Now that's a keeper eh?

But many times we gathered for family night and it was awesome!! Now it is nothing but a distant memory for so many. And I am not fussing or harping about every parent and kid has a smartphone, or always playing their video games and chatting up Facebook or Twitter pals so they are to busy to sit down with the folks a few nights a week. Heck we all have become dependent or slaves of sorts to the internet or our respective providers and phone carriers. I got nothing against it  really, or room to talk lol. But gather around and share a few memories with Mustard Man and maybe y'all will agree after this that maybe it's time to make time for that. Maybe call your mom up for a chat and say thanks for the movie nights or the little snacks before bed. Decide to give your kids the chance to experience what we had growing up. It's easier now we are all online, we have Netflix, Hulu, Crackle and a hundred other sites including Amazon...

Let's make that re connection and share the memories folks

Now for a glimpse at some of those late night movies we were entreated to at my house growing up in the Eighties

These are just a few of the Awesome Eighties blockbusters we grew up with and only a handful of movie nights shared with the family. Lotta laughs and lotta love were in those nights and plenty excitement. I just wanted to share a few fond family night movie memories shared to help bring back memories for y'all and hope they made you smile and miss those times when you were growing or if you're not quite there yet maybe help you think up a movie night in the making memory of your own, or wanna share with in the comments below...
